But there are much better ways of getting me to do stuff then to pay me.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>I need to understand<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2013 the Business, it&#8217;s Context and the Whole Problem that we are trying to solve.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I need for us to Prove that things work<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2013 instead of just believing that they do.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Communicate with me<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2013 show me that I am part of a living organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Give me Autonomy &amp; Responsibility<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2013 let me do my shit and challenge me to be better.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I love Structure<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2013 let&#8217;s have a plan and change it when it needs to change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keep Promises<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2013 communicate ideas as such, decisions as such. Communicate clearly when stuff changes and make sure that change happens on good merits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I want to Change My Mind<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2013 prove to me that you are correct. Please!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let&#8217;s do as little trash talking about colleagues, customers and competitors as possible<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2013 but give and take structured feedback on a regular basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anybody is always allowed to break up with anybody else for any reason.<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2013 We do not owe each other commitment \u2013 we chose to work together.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are some methods that work to get me going:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Answer all the questions I ask you \u2013 saying &#8220;I don&#8217;t know&#8221; or &#8220;Let&#8217;s figure that out together!&#8221; is often an excellent answer.<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Daily&#8221;, &#8220;Planning&#8221; and &#8220;Retro&#8221; \u00e1 la <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Scrum_%28software_development%29\">Scrum<\/a> \u2013 with or without a strict sprint structure.<\/li>\n<li>Customer Behaviour Research \u2013 Data collection, Analysis and Synthesis.<\/li>\n<li>Experimental design \u2013 based on <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@mwambach1\/hypotheses-driven-ux-design-c75fbf3ce7cc\">hypotheses&#8217;<\/a>, design studio sessions, live tests with &#8220;users&#8221;, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optimizely.com\/\">A\/B tests<\/a>, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I like making money.
